Description
This ACE series ionizer cleaning filter is a citric acid cartridge that descales the water cell of your Tyent ionizer. It temporarily takes the place of the 2nd filter, and you repeat the process every 6 to 12 months, or as needed for your source water.
Once it is done, the water cell is clean and protected against further scaling, and the pH readings should be back where they belong.
Other options for hard water
Tyent also sells a scale remover for deep cleaning at home as an alternative. It is easy to use, finishes in under 30 minutes and can be kept for the next time.

When to use it
- Repeat this process every 6-12 months or as necessary based on source water conditions.
Directions for use
- Turn off your ionizer and shut off the water supply going to the unit.
- Locate the filter housing of your ionizer and remove the 2nd filter. You may want to have a towel handy to collect any residual water that comes out when you remove the filter.
- Attach the Citric Acid Ionizer Cleaning Cartridge. Do NOT over tighten!
- Turn on both the power to the ionizer as well as the water supply.
- Run water through the ionizer using the H2O CLEAN mode for 30 seconds, then stop. DO NOT use any other mode when going through this cleaning process!
- Allow the ionizer to sit without using it for 3 hours.
- For the best results, repeat steps 5 and 6 for a total of up to 3 times.
- When finished, follow steps 1-4, replacing the cleaning cartridge with the original 2nd filter (or proceed with replacement filter instructions if you are changing out both ionizer filters).
- Run the unit on the H2O cycle for 3 minutes to wash the filter inside with clean water.
- Check the pH levels of the machine and the flow rate. The pH levels should return to normal.
Use the H2O purified water level only. Using any other level while cleaning could cause damage.
