Frequently asked questions

What does Aquiowell do?

We don’t manufacture water equipment. We bring together water filtration and treatment systems from trusted US suppliers, and help you choose the right one for your home and your water. From knowing what’s in your tap water to filtering, softening and treating it: every step to healthy water, from one place.

How do I know which system I need?

Start by knowing your water. On city water, check your local annual water quality report (Consumer Confidence Report). On well water, have it tested. Then decide what you want to improve: taste, chlorine, hardness or specific contaminants. Not sure where to start? Contact us and we’ll help you choose, hype-free.

Why filter my water if tap water is regulated?

US public water systems must meet EPA standards, but meeting a legal limit isn’t the same as having the water you want. Water can pick up lead or sediment from pipes after it leaves the treatment plant, and the chlorine used to disinfect it affects taste and smell. Filtration and treatment let you decide the quality of the water in your own home.

Why buy through Aquiowell instead of directly from a brand?

A brand sells its own products. We compare systems from different US suppliers and recommend the one that fits your water, your home and your wishes, even if that’s a smaller system. You get honest advice before you buy and one point of contact after delivery.

Do you install the systems?

Not at the moment. Every system comes with clear DIY installation instructions. For systems that connect to your home’s main water line, such as water softeners, we recommend hiring a licensed plumber.

Is shipping free, and can I pay in installments?

Yes. All orders ship free within the US, even large systems. Through Shop Pay you can also choose 0% APR* financing at checkout.

What is a water ionizer?

A water ionizer is an appliance that filters your tap water and then splits it into an alkaline (basic) and an acidic stream through electrolysis, using platinum-coated titanium plates. The alkaline stream has a higher pH and contains dissolved molecular hydrogen (H2), which is considered an antioxidant.

Is alkaline water safe for everyone?

Generally, yes — including for children and pets. If you take medication, it's often recommended to use the "purified water" setting (neutral pH), and to check with your doctor if you have any concerns.

What is ORP and why does it matter?

ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) measures, in millivolts, whether water behaves as an oxidizer or an antioxidant. Alkaline ionized water typically has a negative ORP, which indicates antioxidant properties.

What are the reported benefits?

Users commonly report better hydration, more energy, and a fresher taste, generally attributed to the antioxidant properties of hydrogen-rich water. These are user- and manufacturer-reported experiences, not medically approved claims.

How long does ionized water stay fresh?

It's best enjoyed fresh. The antioxidant effect (hydrogen content) typically fades after about 24–48 hours, even though the water often stays alkaline longer. Store it in a tightly sealed container, filled as close to the top as possible, to slow this down.
