Description
Iron, manganese and other metals stain fixtures, clog equipment and give water an off taste. The Crystal Quest® Metal Removal Water Filtration System treats those metals in commercial and industrial buildings, with service flows from 15 to 390 GPM.
How the system is built
Each unit pairs a heavy duty fiberglass tank with a high flow distributor and a bed of metal removal media, supported by a layer of quartz. Media volumes run from 3 ft³ on the 15 GPM model to 60 ft³ on the 390 GPM model.
Choose your control head
- Automatic: a timer-controlled valve in solid brass, motor driven, with backwash settings you set yourself, a self-adjusting backwash controller and a flow limiter for the backwash stream. Available on every size.
- Manual upflow: needs no electricity and no backwash. Offered from 15 to 75 GPM.
- Manual downflow with backwash: a top-mount manual filter valve, also from 15 to 75 GPM.
The 185 GPM automatic model comes with a 2" or 3" connection.
Options

Valve upgrades: the 2510 and 3900 accept an NXT display controller and meter valve; the 2850 and 2900 also accept an XT display controller.
Manual valves (15-75 GPM)
- Manual downflow with backwash: top-mount manual filter valve. 1" in/out, 1" female drain, 1.05" OD riser, 2.5" 8-NPSM connection; or 2" in/out, 1.5" female drain, 1.5" OD riser, 4" 8-UN connection.
- Manual upflow head: works without electricity and without backwash, and runs upflow or downflow depending on how it is plumbed. UPVC tank head with 2.5"-8NPSM opening (1" NPT in/out, 1" NPT center riser) or 4"-8UN opening (2" NPT in/out, 1.5" NPT center riser).
